Tips & More Info
When I’m making multiple design assets for a project, I try to allow for flexibility and variability between assets, while still maintaining a core, cohesive design sensibility.
The color palette is part of that cohesive core, and as I’ve developed Truly Simple Tools, I’d tried to maintain a subtle, toned-down palette while periodically defying that existing scheme. I built Color Archive to help me keep track of what’s being used where so I can continue to elaborate on the central theme, while also ensuring all the pieces (including the variations) look good together.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the app free?
- Yes, the app is completely free to download and use, but there's a "paywall" for one feature: the ability to make more than five palettes at once. If you'd like to unlock that feature (to have unlimited palettes going simultaneously) or just want to support further development of the app (and my work in general) it's a $4.99 in-app purchase.
- What platforms are supported?
- Currently, the app is available for iOS 17.0 or later and macOS 14.0 or later.
- How do I report a bug or request a feature?
- Reach out via one of the options on the contact page.
